Quick fix
Plug the network cable into the phone’s LAN or Internet port, power it with PoE or its adapter, and let it start up and download its settings. Then make a test call.
Step by step
Connect the handset
Plug the coiled cord into the handset and the handset port on the phone.
Plug in the network cable
Use the port marked LAN, Internet or Network. The PC port is for connecting a computer through the phone.
Power it
If your network switch supports PoE, the phone powers on from the cable. Otherwise, use the phone’s power adapter.
Let it set itself up
Many business phones download their settings and updates automatically. This can take several minutes; don’t unplug it while it updates.
Check the screen
You should see your name, extension or number. A red icon or “Unregistered” means it isn’t connected yet (see phone won’t register).
Make a test call
Call another extension and an outside number to confirm both directions work.
